Hate speeches: Osinbajo warns against disrupting Nigeria’s peace

The Federal government has assured Nigerians that it will take very seriously any attempt to cause violence or disrupt peace in the country.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo who gave this assurance while addressing  Northern Leaders at the Banquet hall warned that inflamatory speeches bent on causing division in the country will be met with the full force of the Law.

State House Correspondent Mariah Olasehinde reports that the emergency consultative meeting initiated by the Federal government is meant to address the agitations by the Indigenous People Of Biafra and its affiliate groups.

The agitations had recently led to an ultimatum being delivered by a Youth group from the north who to all South Easterners residing in the North to vacate the north by October the first 2017.

This high level meeting presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, is attended by the Leadership of the National Assembly, Chief of Defence Staff Gabriel Olonishakin and Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris
Its intent is to assure Nigerians that the Federal Government will henceforth not ignore hate  speeches aimed at fomenting crisis

Osinbajo warns that  the government is out to ensure the Unity of the country and any one found culpable of making speeches that may lead to violence, will be made to face the full force of the Law

Osinbajo will have similar  meetings with traditional Leaders from the North and Leaders of thought from the South East until all issues are resolved.
