How I Started Rapping in Secondary School-Falz

Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana better known by his stage name Falz has revealed that he started his musical career while in secondary school.

Falz, who is also an actor and a songwriter disclosed this in a chat during Radio Continental’s ‘wetin Dey’ on Monday June 19th.


He said:

“I began my career while in secondary school after forming a group called “The School Boys” with my friends before my professional career as a music artiste began in 2009.

“I was listed in tooXclusive’s Artistes to Watch in 2014.
my chart-topping single titled “Marry Me” got me nominated
in the Best Collaboration of The Year category at the 2015.”

He further stated:

“My single release tittled “Ello Bae” won me a nomination in the “Best Street Hop Artiste of The Year” category at The Headies 2015.

“In 2016, I won “Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series” at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for my role as Segun in Funke Akindele’s TV series Jenifa’s Diary. In June of 2016, I was voted the winner of the “Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act” category at the 2016 BET Awards.”
